Historical Context

The LE20 represented JBL's approach to high-frequency reproduction in the early 1970s. While dome tweeters would later become the standard, cone tweeters like the LE20 offered high efficiency and a distinctive sonic character that many listeners found engaging and "live" sounding.

The LE20 was eventually replaced by the LE25 in the L100A, which offered extended high-frequency response.
